If you’re looking for the best UPI cashback app, you’ve probably heard about the Kiwi app. Kiwi is one of India’s highest rewarding UPI apps. It gives you a flat 1.5% cashback on all scan and pay transactions.
But this special offer is only for credit card-based UPI payments. For that, you need to have a Yes Bank Click RuPay credit card, which you can apply for through the Kiwi app. It’s a digital card you can use to make UPI payments and get a flat 1.5% cashback.

However, this cashback can go up to 2% if you are a Kiwi Neon subscriber. What is Kiwi Neon, what you need to do to get it, and whether it’s free, we will know all that in this article.
About Kiwi Neon
Kiwi Neon is an annual membership program rolled out for select users. The cost of this membership is ₹999 per year. Also, users who have the Kiwi Neon membership can give it for free to other users by inviting them (or sharing their invitation codes). To generate an invite link or code, users need to go to the refer and earn section and share either the referral link or code.
Users who join Kiwi using an invitation code or link will get the Kiwi Neon program free for one year. However, each user can invite only a limited number of people. Subscription is completely voluntary.

Benefits of Kiwi Neon Membership
The Kiwi Neon Membership Program is an annual membership designed for select users who have a Credit Card issued via the Kiwi App since July 4, 2024. Here are the detailed benefits and key aspects of the Kiwi Neon Membership:
Membership Fee and Validity: Rs. 999 (exclusive of taxes), effective from February 3, 2025. The membership is valid for one year from the date of enrollment and can be renewed annually.
There was a limited-period offer where the membership fee was waived for customers who applied for the Credit Card via Kiwi App since July 4, 2024, prior to January 31, 2025, provided they applied for Neon membership on or before April 15, 2025. This waiver does not apply to re-applicants after January 31, 2025. Customers who enrolled before January 31, 2025, continue to enjoy benefits without payment until their yearly validity ends.
Cashback on Kiwi UPI Transactions (with Kiwi-issued Credit Card)
2% cashback on scan & pay transactions and 0.5% cashback on online transactions where payment is redirected from a merchant website/app to the Kiwi app.
The membership offers enhanced cashback and benefits upon reaching specific yearly spending milestones on the Kiwi App:
- Milestone 1: 3% cashback on eligible spends of Rs. 50,000 + 1 lounge access.
- Milestone 2: 4% cashback on eligible spends of Rs. 1,00,000 + 1 lounge access.
- Milestone 3: 5% cashback on eligible spends of Rs. 1,50,000 + 1 lounge access.
Milestone Calculation
Milestone cashback is extra cashback you get after spending a certain amount in a year. Let’s say Kiwi gives you regular cashback (like 2%) through your Neon subscription. Now, if you spend ₹1.5 lakh in a year, Kiwi gives a total of 5% cashback for that milestone.
But since you already got 2% earlier, you’ll now get only the remaining 3%, making it a total of 5%. This extra 3% is added later as milestone cashback. You can earn up to ₹7,500 when you reach this ₹1.5 lakh spend milestone.
Even if you earned only 0.5% cashback on some online transactions earlier, those same spends can now give you 5% total cashback because you hit the milestone.
Milestone rewards and lounge access credits are provided after 30 days, on the last day of the subsequent month of achieving the milestone (e.g., milestone in January, credited on February 28).
Airport Lounge Access: Once unlocked, the lounge pass is valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
Other Benefits
Surprise cashback on UPI payments made through saving accounts (up to ₹100/month). You will see surprise rewards for 30 seconds upon making scan and pay transaction with saving bank account.
Comparison with SBI Cashback Card
Some users in the sources consider the Kiwi Neon membership similar to the SBI Cashback card until the Rs. 1.5 Lakh spend milestone. However, after hitting Rs. 1.5 Lakh on Kiwi, transactions for non-scan and pay will only fetch 2% cashback with the Neon membership, which suggests it might be better to use an SBI or other card for non-scan and pay transactions beyond this milestone. One user noted that while the SBI CB card is “hyped a lot,” its large list of exclusions might make it difficult to utilise properly.
