Comet Browser Perplexity Features & How to Gain Access

Comet Browser by Perplexity: Features, Access, and Invite Details

Comet Browser by Perplexity is now out, but for a limited users. If you are a Perplexity Pro subscriber, then you might have got access to this much-awaited AI-powered browser. It is said to be a rival to Google’s search engine.

The browser is gaining so much attention because it replaces Google’s “blue links” search results with an “answer engine” that includes links or sources. With this browser, you can generate summaries, describe images, summarise videos, and research topics you’re learning or just checking out.

Its ability to complete tasks on behalf of a user is a truly new and interesting introduction.

Like, for example, it can summarise emails and request to close tables if inactive; these are just a few examples. Overall, there are many interesting features you can explore after installing it. But if you don’t want to be limited by restricted features, you will need an invite.

Let’s take an example.

This isn’t just another browser — Comet is your personal internet assistant.

Think about how you usually book a flight: you open Google, browse through multiple sites, fill out endless forms, compare prices, and finally make the payment. It’s a long, repetitive process.

With Comet, all that changes. Just type what you need — “Book me the cheapest flight from New York to London next Friday” — and hit Enter. Comet does the rest. It visit websites, enters details, compares fares, and finds the best deal — all automatically.

What’s So Special About Comet?

Launched by Perplexity, the search engine touted as a strong alternative to Google, Comet has been recently rolled out to Max and Pro users. It is available for Windows, Mac, and Android.  Access for free users is being rolled out via an invite/waitlist process.  With the “invite-only” program, free users can experience its much-hyped AI features.

Comet’s Invite Program

It is currently available under Perplexity Max program. And now it is being rolled out to Pro users. For those who want to explore Comet, you can try these methods to get an invitation to access its features.

  • Access is prioritised for Max and Pro users, as all Max users have access to its advanced version. Signing up for their “Max” (Pro) tier could potentially help you “skip the line.” The Max subscription is available at $200/month.
  • Many Non-Max users have also received invitations directly via email. If you are a Pro user, you can check your email to see if you have received an invitation from Perplexity team.
  • Each user can invite two new users. This means you can request Max or users having Comet access to share an invitation with you.
  • Beyond direct invitations, some individuals have gained access by Direct Messaging the Perplexity account on X.
